Building on an overhang magnifies the view: this house is literally carved out of the rock on a steep slope. Every effort has been made to preserve the surrounding vegetation. With its timber structure and flat terracotta tiled roof, the house is so well integrated into the vegetation that it is virtually invisible from all sides, while still offering a commanding view of the village of Talloires and the shores of the lake. The swimming pool, also on an overhang, offers an underwater view of the bay from its rectangular porthole. Note: some builders had deemed the site unbuildable, as it was too narrow and too steep.
